It came to be known through that famous masterpiece of mystic literature The Way of a Pilgrim. It consists mainly of a simple sentence in the form of a litany, Lord Jesus, son of the living God, have pity on me, which unites body, mind and spirit in communion with God. The author introduces us to this original form of prayer, inspired by the rhythm of our breathing a means of perpetual union with God wherein man may rediscover his unity in today's disjointed world.
