Luxembourg Palace

The Luxembourg Palace is both a historic building and the French Senate's headquarter. Built in 1615 for Marie de Médicis, the palace was the backdrop for decisive events in French history. The book overviews the palace's history as well as the evolution of its architecture, from the classical style of the 17th century, through the alterations made in the 19th to nowadays.Then, the book offers a guided tour of the building's main rooms: the hemicycle, the conference hall, the monumental staircase, the library, the Gallery of Busts, but also the garden and the Petit Luxembourg, the Senate's presidential residence since 1825.
